I happen to love the character “Tewi” from Touhou, and I dcided to cosplay her knowing of the “Are You A Bunny Girl?” I’d be getting all day. Luckily I set up a gathering so that my cosplay would get recognized at least once, not that it was perfect cosplay in the first place.

The day of the gathering, a much taller cosplayer (I’m 4’9) offered to help me get everything organized, I quickly accepted his kindness, photos were arranged and pictures taken. I thanked him, ready to head off with my friends to get food. That’s when he stopped me, asking to take a picture. I was flattered, him being the first person to ask to take a picture of my cosplay. He even complimented it. “I love Tewi! And you’re so cute.”

I posed for him and he snapped a shot. I picked up my bag about to say my goodbye & leave, when he asked for a coupe more poses. What was the harm? I mean it’s not like anyone else was gonna ask, and it made me feel a bit happy that he liked what I had thought was a so-so cosplay. He asked for a specific pose, I did it. He asked me to pose on the floor with a bunny sign, I did it.

“Alright, I gotta go now.”

“Wait! Hey would you mind giving me a hug?”

“Uh…sure.”

I tried to give him a quick hug, but he kind of held on to me. Now I didn’t mention this before, but he had a good 200 lbs on me. So I wasn’t exactly comfortable when this huge guy hugged me to him, not letting me move with my face just a half a foot away from his crotch. Alarms were going off in my head, so I hurriedly waved at my friends who were on stand by to come rescue me. It was to no avail, they hadn’t the slightest idea what was going on.

“Hey before you go would you mind giving me a kiss?” He sat down at he said this, holding onto my wrist (with a strong grip). I was freaked out, so he added, “On the cheek.”

I was still on high alert, but thought to myself, “If a cosplayer I thought was really good gave me a kiss on the cheek It’d make my con experience great”. Maybe my paranoia was just that, and I shouldn’t ruin someone else’s time by rudely saying no. He urged me on, pulling me forward with his bear grip. “C’mon I just want a kiss on the cheek from my little bunny!”

I cringed, clearly uncomfortable and did it quickly. I was ready to get away as quickly as possible, but it was too late. He pulled me into his lap! And said, and I quote once again, “Now how about one on the lips?”

I immediatley said a very firm no! Pushing at him and getting off of his lap, at this point I was just aghast at him, he (thank god) let me go.

“Aw…then can I have your Facebook?” don’t have one. “What about email?” No. “We should meet up soon, I can show you the awesome shots I got of you.” I cringed, as he said this he blatantly stared at my breasts. I wanted to cry. How had a simple interaction with a fellow fan gone so, so wrong? I felt so violated.

Moral of the Story: KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF THE COSPLAYERS.
