Now, I was always a fan of anime. No, not the “OMG KAWAII-DESU CHAN” type fan, but a casual watcher and reader. About a year ago, I was a senior in high school. I was getting ready to pack my bags and leave, although I still had about 3 months until myself and a close friend went to go be roommates. 

Now, I was the only person in my family who ever really liked anime and all that jazz. Sometimes my mom would poke fun at me and say I was “Japanese in another life”, and sometimes my sister would play along. One day, I decided I’d tell them that I was really just a casual fan and nothing more. My sister seemed a bit interested and asked if I could show her some shows. I said that would be cool, and I’d show her over the weekend.

Big. Mistake.

Friday afternoon, I was home, sitting at my computer, when my sister walked in. She asked me if it would be cool if I could show her some anime, so I agreed. I showed her Fairy Tail and a few others. She seemed pretty intrigued, not too crazy, but at least interested. She said she’d check some anime out on her own time. 

Over the course of the weeks to come, she said becoming more and more.. interested. She started to talk more about characters, and then the thing that I most dreaded.. she started to wear cat ears and say things like “kawaii”. I really didn’t care, she was my little sister, and I knew she was just there to be annoying.

One day, she came into my room asking me what yaoi and yuri was, saying she’d heard about it through the internet. I explained it to her in as little detail as possible, not without mentioning to her to not look any further into it. 

A week had gone by, and I was pretty relieved to see she wasn’t talking about yaoi or yuri. Now, I’m no homophobe, but I didn’t really want my 14 year old sister to get into that kind of stuff. 

Then, as I was about to go to bed, she came into my room, having a smug look on her face. 

“Hey Nii-san~” She said in a kind of awkwardly seductive way.

“Uh.. hey” I responded, giving her an odd look.

Then, before I could do anything, she ripped off her clothes, now only in her under garments, and pounced on me, tackling me onto the ground and leaning over me.

“Come on Nii-sama.. let’s have some fun~” She said, trying to unbutton my shirt.

Completely mortified, I tried shoving her off, although this was quite hard, considering I was a very skinny and short girl, while my sister had a bit of a bigger build. 

I started freaking out, knowing I couldn’t get her off of me. I screamed at the top of my lungs, and my mom came running in. She looked extremely mortified and disgusted, dragging my sister off of me. 

Since then, my sister has been put away to live with my aunt. My mom and I made a truce to never speak about it to anyone except my aunt. I’m now living in the apartment I was talking about with my friend. 

Moral of the story: Sure, showing others your interests may be cool, but.. be aware of what could happen.
