I’ve had the unfortunate displeasure to be associated with many weeaboos in my time and have been even more unfortunate to have been one. Needless to say, it’s fairly easy for me to spot a person of the weeb-kind. Now when I was a senior in high school, there happened to be a group of moderately attractive, geeky, and all-‘round fun freshman girls. Of course, being a the stupid teen boy that I was, I had to get to know them. Bad idea? Very bad idea.
I soon found out that this group of girls was obsessed with Kingdom Hearts and roleplayed the characters from Organization 13 in real life and constantly quoted bad DeviantArt fanart comics and such.
It all went to hell in a handbasket when one we’ll call Mumbles became my stalker. It was… scarring. She would follow me, repeat everything I said, announce and proclaim her “love” for me loudly at lunch, and try to make me her “husbando.” It got so bad that she tackled me into a locker claiming that it was a hug, causing me to bang my arm straight into the lock and bruising me for a month. I finally told her how I felt and… that didn’t go too well. She got the entire group to go against me. Two of them, Kibbles and Annie, actually started spreading rumors about me and caused me to lose quite a few friends, surprisingly. Crunchy didn’t care, but since she was dating Kibbles I couldn’t cultivate that friendship.
This went on for the entire school year.
Don’t let this experience turn you away from making new friends in high school though. I’ve made a few great friends from high school. You’ve just got to accept the bad with the good and make the best of it all.
